The DAM3-1600 Molded Case Circuit Breaker is designed to automatically interrupt the current when it surpasses the preset release threshold. The term 'molded case' refers to the plastic insulator that forms the device's frame, insulating the conductor from the metal grounding components.

Working Principle
The main contact of the DAM3-1600 Molded Case Circuit Breaker can be operated manually or electrically. Once the main contact is closed, a free release mechanism secures it in the closed position. The overcurrent trip coil and thermal trip element are connected in series with the main circuit, while the undervoltage trip coil is connected in parallel with the power supply.
