Introduction

The DAM1 series of circuit breakers are masterfully engineered to handle current conduction under normal conditions and to effectively interrupt it during short circuits, overloads, and other inadmissible voltage deviations. Additionally, these breakers facilitate operational engagement and disengagement of electric circuits. Tailored for electric systems with operational voltages up to 400V and supporting rated currents from 12.5A to 1600A, these breakers are designed to ensure optimal performance and safety.

These circuit breakers are fully compliant with the rigorous standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Provides protection under overload conditions)
The thermal protection mechanism relies on a bimetallic component, comprising two metals with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. When heated, the bimetal bends toward the metal with lesser expansion, triggering a mechanism that opens the breaker. The bimetal's bending rate is directly proportional to the current's magnitude, as increased current generates more heat. Thus, the breaker effectively provides overload protection when the load current exceeds the rated level.
Magnetic Protection Function:(Ensures protection under short circuit conditions) Another critical role of the breaker is tosafeguard the connected circuit against shortcircuits. Such shorts may result fromphase-to-phase or phase-to-ground contact.In the event of a short circuit, an immensecurrent surge travels through the cables, necessitatingrapid system disconnection to prevent thermaldamage. The breaker mustinstantly disconnect to protect theconnected load. This action is executed by amechanical release mechanism,which is activatedby magnetization induced by themagnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
