Introduction
The DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker is engineered to automatically disconnect the current when it surpasses the preset release threshold. The term 'molded case' refers to the durable plastic insulator that forms the frame of the circuit breaker, effectively insulating conductors and metal grounding components.
Working Principle
The primary contact of the DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker can be manually operated or electrically closed. Once closed, the free release mechanism securely locks the main contact in the closed position. This innovative design includes an overcurrent trip coil and thermal trip element connected in series with the main circuit, alongside an undervoltage trip coil which is connected in parallel to the power supply.
