Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously designed to conduct current under standard conditions and to disconnect during short circuits, overloads, and other inadmissible scenarios. These breakers also facilitate operational actuation and the disconnection of specific electric circuit sections. They are engineered for electrical systems with an operating voltage up to 400V and a rated current range from 12.5A to 1600A.

They meet the stringent requirements of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2 standards.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (For safeguarding against overload conditions)
The thermal protection mechanism relies on a bimetallic strip composed of two metals with different expansion coefficients when heated. Upon heating, the strip bends towards the metal with the lower expansion rate, triggering a mechanism that opens the breaker. The speed at which the bimetal bends is directly proportional to the current passing through the breaker, as an increase in current results in increased heat. This ensures that the breaker provides reliable overcurrent protection at load currents exceeding the rated levels.
Magnetic protection function(For safeguarding against short circuit conditions) Another critical function of the breaker is toprotect the connected circuit against shortcircuits. A short circuit can occur due tothe contact between phases or between a phaseand the ground. In such events, a veryhigh current flows through the cables, necessitatingrapid isolation of the affected section to avoidthermal damage. The breaker mustexecute an immediate disconnection to safeguard theconnected load. This instantaneousdisconnection is enabled by a mechanicalopening mechanism thatfunctions throughmagnetization induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
