Introduction
The DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker is engineered to automatically interrupt the current when it surpasses the release setting. The term 'molded case' denotes the use of a plastic insulator as the device's frame, which serves to insulate the conductor and the metal grounding component.

Working Principle
The primary contact of the DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker can be manually manipulated or electrically closed. Once the primary contact is engaged, the free release mechanism secures it in the closed position. The overcurrent trip coil and the thermal trip element are connected in series with the main circuit, while the undervoltage trip coil is connected in parallel with the power supply.
