Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers stand as a testament to superior engineering, expertly crafted to manage current flow seamlessly in standard operations while offering robust protection against short circuits, overloads, and unacceptable power fluctuations. Designed for peak performance, these circuit breakers are perfect for electrical assemblies with a maximum operating voltage of 400V and a rated current spectrum ranging from 12.5A to 1600A.

They are meticulously engineered to comply with the rigorous standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Ensures safeguarding under overload conditions)
At the heart of the thermal protection is a bimetallic strip, an ingenious combination of two metals with differing expansion coefficients when heated. Upon heating, this bimetal bends towards the metal with the lesser expansion, triggering a notch that promptly disengages the breaker mechanism, thereby halting the circuit. The bending velocity of the bimetal is directly proportional to the current dimensions traversing the breaker, as an increase in current inherently escalates heat production. This mechanism effectively ensures that the breaker's overcurrent protection function is activated when load currents surpass the rated threshold.
Magnetic Protection Function: (Engineered for protection against short circuit events) An additional critical function of the breaker is to safeguard the connected circuit from the potentially catastrophic effects of short circuits, which may arise when phases come into contact with each other or when a phase encounters the ground. Such incidents cause an immense surge of current through the cables, necessitating a swift interruption of system energy to prevent thermal damage. The breaker is engineered to execute an immediate disconnect to shield the connected load. This vital function is realized through a mechanical opening mechanism, expertly designed to spring into action with the magnetization initiated by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
