Introduction

The highly efficient DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously crafted to facilitate seamless current conduction under standard conditions while ensuring robust protection by disconnecting circuits in the event of short circuits, overloads, or other hazardous interruptions. These breakers are perfectly suited for integration in electrical systems operating at a maximum voltage of 400V across a wide range of rated currents from 12.5A to an impressive 1600A.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (Designed to safeguard systems under overload conditions)
The integral bimetallic strip, responsible for thermal protection, ingeniously integrates two metals with distinct thermal expansion rates. Upon heating, the bimetallic strip gracefully bends towards the metal with a lower expansion rate, thereby engaging a mechanism that facilitates the breaker's operation. The rate of this bending directly correlates with the current flowing through the breaker, as elevated current levels generate additional heat. Consequently, this sophisticated mechanism enables overcurrent protection, ensuring optimal performance when load currents exceed the rated thresholds. Magnetic protection function: (Engineered for safeguarding against short circuit conditions) An essential capability of this breaker is to provide unwavering protection to the connected circuit against incidents of short circuits. Such scenarios may arise from the inadvertent contact between phases or between a phase and the ground. Given that extremely high currents may traverse through the cables during a short circuit, it is imperative for the system's energy to be swiftly disrupted due to the thermal protection. The breaker must execute an instant disconnection to secure the load it is associated with. This critical function is carried out by a mechanical opening mechanism that efficiently activates in response to the magnetism generated by the magnetic field induced by the short circuit current.
