Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers, crafted by Shanghai DaDa Electric Co., Ltd., are meticulously designed to conduct current seamlessly in normal conditions and to promptly interrupt the flow during short circuits, overloads, or any inadmissible conditions. They are engineered to be incorporated in electrical units with operational voltages capped at 400V and a rated current range of 12.5 to 1600A, ensuring safety and reliability.

They meet and exceed the requirements as per EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, guaranteeing top-notch performance and compliance with international standards.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Ensures safety during overload conditions)
The bimetal component, pivotal for thermal protection, is ingeniously designed by combining two distinct metals with varying coefficients of expansion upon heating. As the bimetal heats, it elegantly bends towards the metal with the lesser expansion, releasing a notch that triggers the breaker mechanism to open and disable the circuit. The bending speed is directly proportional to the magnitude of current passing through, as higher currents induce more heat, effectively ensuring overcurrent protection for loads exceeding the rated current.
Magnetic Protection Function: (For safeguarding against short circuit conditions) A crucial function of the breaker is to shield the connected circuits from short circuit incidents, which may arise due to contact between phases or between a phase and the ground. Such events induce exceptionally high currents through the cables, necessitating the system's prompt disconnection to prevent thermal damage. The breaker is designed to offer instantaneous tripping to safeguard the connected load. This critical function is performed by a highly efficient mechanical opening mechanism that is activated by the magnetization caused by the magnetic field generated during a short circuit event.
