Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are expertly crafted to manage current flow under normal conditions and provide swift interruption during short circuits, overloads, or unacceptable bucking, ensuring reliable operational actuation and circuit segment tripping. These circuit breakers are meticulously engineered for deployment in electrical units with an operational voltage cap of 400V, accommodating a rated current range from 12.5A to 1600A.

These circuit breakers adhere to the rigorous standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring impeccable quality and reliability.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Designed for safeguarding against overload conditions)
The bimetallic component, essential for thermal protection, is an ingenious fusion of two metals with varying thermal expansion coefficients. When heated, the bimetal arcs towards the lesser expanding metal, triggering a notch that activates the breaker mechanism, thereby disabling the breaker. This bending action is directly correlated with the current magnitude flowing through the breaker, as increased current amplifies heat generation. Consequently, the breaker's overcurrent protection function is effectively executed by the bimetal at load currents surpassing the rated threshold.
Magnetic Protection Function: (Engineered for safeguarding against short circuit conditions) An additional critical function of the breaker is to safeguard the connected circuit from short circuits. A short circuit might arise due to cross-contact between phases or phase-to-ground contact. In such events, when an exceptionally high current surges through the cables, the system's integrity must be swiftly preserved by cutting off the power in conjunction with thermal protection. The breaker must instantly disengage to shield the connected load. The mechanism executing this vital function is a precisely engineered mechanical opening mechanism that activates through the magnetic field induced by the short circuit current.
