Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously designed for efficient current conduction under normal conditions and provide superior protection by interrupting circuits during short circuits, overloads, and unacceptable voltage drops. Engineered for operational actuation and tripping, these breakers are ideal for electric units with an operational voltage up to 400V and rated currents ranging from 12.5A to 1600A.

These circuit breakers fully comply with the stringent requirements of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2 standards.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (For safeguarding against overload conditions)
The thermal protection leverages a bimetal component, composed of two metals with distinct expansion rates under heat. When heated, the bimetal bends towards the metal with the lower expansion rate, releasing a notch that activates the breaker mechanism to interrupt the circuit. The bending rate of the bimetal is directly proportional to the current size, as increased current generates more heat. This mechanism ensures overcurrent protection by triggering the breaker at currents exceeding the rated level.
Magnetic Protection Function: (For shielding against short circuit conditions) An additional crucial function of the breaker is to safeguard the connected circuits from shortcircuit incidents. Short circuits can occur dueto phase-to-phase contact orphase-to-ground contact. In such events,extremely high currents can flow through the cables, necessitatingan immediate power cutoff dueto the thermal protection mechanism. The breaker mustperform instantaneous opening to shield theconnected load. This critical function is performed by a mechanical openingmechanism thatactivates withmagnetism generated by the short circuit current's magnetic field.
