Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are precisely engineered to conduct current seamlessly under normal conditions, while providing superior protection by interrupting circuits during short circuits, overloads, and other unacceptable conditions. They are adept at operation and tripping, with a design tailored for electrical units operating at voltages up to 400V and current ratings from 12.5 to 1600A.

These devices meet and exceed the stringent standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Ensuring protection under overload conditions)
The thermal protection is provided by a bimetallic strip, crafted from two metals with differing expansion rates when heated. As the bimetal heats up, it bends towards the metal with the lesser expansion coefficient. This bending action triggers a mechanism that opens the breaker, thus interrupting the circuit. The rate at which the bimetal bends is directly proportional to the current passing through the breaker, offering precise overcurrent protection based on the thermal response.
Magnetic Protection Function:(For protection under short circuit conditions) One of the critical functions of the breaker isto safeguard the electrical circuit against shortcircuits. Short circuits can occur due to thecontact between phase wires orphase-ground contact. In such events, amassive current surge flows through the cables, necessitating a rapiddisconnection of the system power to preventthermal damage. The breaker is designed toinstantly trip open, thus protecting the loadit is connected to. The mechanism responsible for thisfunction is a mechanical disengagementmechanism thatis activated bythe magnetic field generated by the short circuit current
