Introduction
The DAM1 series circuit breakers are engineered for seamless current conduction in normal operations and ensure reliable interruption during short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible bucking. These breakers are essential for operational actuation and disconnection of electric circuit components. They are specifically designed for electric units with an operating voltage capped at 400V, supporting a rated current range from 12.5A to 1600A.
They fully comply with the stringent standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.

Thermal Protection Function (For Protection Under Overload Conditions):
The bimetal, which offers thermal protection, is crafted from two metals with different expansion coefficients when heated. As the bimetal heats up, it bends towards the metal with minimal expansion. This bending action releases a notch, triggering the breaker mechanism to disengage, thus disabling the breaker. The bending speed is directly proportional to the current passing through the breaker, as higher currents generate more heat. Consequently, the bimetal provides overcurrent protection at load currents exceeding the rated current.
Magnetic Protection FunctionThis function offers protection under short circuit conditions. The breaker is designed tosafeguard the connected circuit against short circuits, which can occur due tophase-to-phase contact orphase-to-ground contact. In the event of a short circuit,an extremely high current will flow through the cables, necessitatingimmediate disconnection of system energy to prevent damage. Thebreaker must instantly open to shield the loadit is connected to. This crucial function is performed by amechanical openingmechanism activated bymagnetization inducedby the magnetic field generated bythe short circuit current.
