Introduction
The DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker is engineered to automatically disconnect the current when it surpasses the predefined release setting. 'Molded case' refers to the robust plastic insulator that forms the frame, providing excellent isolation between the conductor and the metal grounding components.
Working Principle
The operation of the DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker involves either manual manipulation or electric closing of the main contact. Once the main contact is securely closed, the free release mechanism ensures it remains locked in the closing position. The overcurrent trip coil and thermal trip element are integrated in series with the main circuit, while the undervoltage trip coil is connected in parallel with the power supply, ensuring reliable performance and safety.
