Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Ensuring safety under overload conditions)
The thermal protection feature utilizes a bimetal strip composed of two metals with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. As the bimetal heats up, it bends towards the metal with a lower expansion rate, triggering the breaker mechanism to disconnect. The bending rate of the bimetal is directly proportional to the current passing through the breaker, as higher currents generate more heat. This intelligent design ensures that the breaker provides robust overcurrent protection when load currents exceed the rated levels.
Magnetic Protection Function:(Providing safety under short circuit conditions) The breaker also serves tosafeguard the connected circuit against shortcircuits. Short circuits can occur fromphase-to-phase contact orphase-to-ground contact. These incidents causeextremely high currents to surge through the cables, necessitating animmediate disconnection to prevent thermal damage.
