Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to manage current flow under normal conditions and to interrupt it during short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible bucking. Additionally, they facilitate both operational actuation and tripping of electric circuit segments. These breakers are crafted for electric systems with an operational voltage capped at 400V, supporting rated currents from 12.5A to 1600A.

They comply with the stringent standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Safeguarding against overload conditions)
The thermal protection is provided by a bimetal strip composed of two metals with different heat expansion coefficients. When heated, the bimetal bends toward the metal with lesser expansion, releasing a notch that disengages the breaker mechanism, thus disabling the breaker. The bending speed is directly proportional to the current passing through, as increased current leads to increased heat. This mechanism ensures overcurrent protection by the bimetal at load currents exceeding the rated current.
Magnetic Protection Function:(For protection under short circuit conditions) Another crucial function of the breaker is tosafeguard the connected circuit from shortcircuits. Short circuits may occur due tophase-to-phase contact orphase-to-ground contact. In the event of ashort circuit, a very high current flows through the cables, necessitating theimmediate interruption of system energydue to thermal protection. The breakermust perform an instant disconnection to protect the connected load.This function is executed by a mechanical openingmechanism that istriggered bythe magnetization induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
