Introduction
The DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker is designed with an automatic current cut-off feature that activates when the current surpasses the predefined release setting. The term 'molded case' refers to the use of a durable plastic insulator that forms the device's frame, ensuring effective insulation of the conductor and the metal grounding component.
Working principle
The operation of the DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker involves either manual manipulation or electric closing of the main contact. Once closed, the free release mechanism securely locks the main contact in the closed position. The circuit breaker's overcurrent trip coil and thermal trip element are ingeniously connected in series with the main circuit, while the undervoltage trip coil is arranged in parallel with the power supply.
