Introduction

The exceptional DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously designed for seamlessly conducting current in normal operations. They offer unparalleled reliability in switching off during short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible bucking. These breakers are also proficient in operational actuation and tripping of electric circuit segments. Perfectly suited for electric units with an operative voltage capped at 400V and a rated current range spanning 12.5 to 1600A.

Fully compliant with the stringent standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring quality and safety.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Designed for safeguarding under overload conditions)
A sophisticated bimetal, fundamental for thermal protection, is crafted from two metals with distinct expansion coefficients when heated. Upon heating, the bimetal elegantly bends towards the metal with a lesser extension coefficient. This precise movement releases a notch that facilitates the opening of the breaker mechanism, effectively disabling the breaker. The bending speed of the bimetal is intricately linked to the magnitude of the current traversing the breaker, as an increase in current correlates with a rise in heat. Consequently, the bimetal impeccably fulfills the overcurrent protection function at load currents exceeding the rated threshold.
Magnetic Protection Function: Providing essential protection under short circuit conditions, this function of the breaker is engineered to safeguard the connected circuit against the damaging effects of short circuits. Such conditions may arise due to contact between phases or between phase and ground. In the event of a short circuit, a substantial surge of current flows through the cables, necessitating a swift disconnection of system energy via thermal protection. The breaker must act instantaneously to shield the load it is connected to. This critical function is performed by a mechanical opening mechanism, operating through the magnetization induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
