Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to ensure seamless current conduction in standard operational conditions. They expertly interrupt the circuit during short circuits, overloads, and other inadmissible conditions, including operational actuation and tripping of electrical components. These robust devices are designed for electric units operating up to a voltage of 400V, with a rated current ranging from 12.5 to 1600A.

These circuit breakers adhere to the stringent standards specified by EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring unparalleled reliability and performance.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (For safeguarding under overload conditions)
The bimetallic element, which provides thermal protection, is ingeniously designed using two metals with distinct heat expansion coefficients. Upon heating, the bimetal bends toward the metal with a lesser expansion coefficient, thus triggering a notch that activates the breaker mechanism. This results in the interruption of the circuit. The bending speed of the bimetal is directly proportional to the current flowing through the breaker, as an increase in current leads to increased heat generation. Consequently, the overcurrent protection function of the breaker is effectively achieved by the bimetal at load currents exceeding the rated current.
Magnetic protection function: (For safeguarding under short circuit conditions) Another critical function of the breaker is to safeguard the connected circuit from short circuits. Short circuits may occur due to contact between phases or contact between phase and ground. Given the extremely high current that passes through the cables during a short circuit, the system's power must be interrupted swiftly due to thermal protection concerns. The breaker should perform an instantaneous opening to shield the load it is connected to. This vital function is executed by a mechanical opening mechanism that responds to magnetization induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
