Product Description

Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to conduct current under normal conditions and to provide rapid disconnection in cases of short circuits, overloads, and unacceptable voltage drops. Additionally, these breakers execute operational actuation and selective tripping to safeguard electrical circuit segments. They are optimally designed for electric units with operating voltages up to 400V and rated currents ranging from 12.5A to 1600A.

They meet the stringent requirements of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2 standards.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (For protection under overload conditions)
The thermal protection mechanism employs a bimetal strip, composed of two metals with different coefficients of thermal expansion. As it heats, the bimetal bends toward the metal with the lower expansion rate, triggering a notch that releases the breaker mechanism. This bending rate is proportional to the current flow, as higher current results in increased heat generation. Consequently, the bimetal provides overcurrent protection by tripping the breaker when the load current exceeds the rated threshold.
Magnetic Protection Function:(For protection under short circuit conditions)Another essential function of the breaker is to shield the connected circuit fromshort circuits. Such conditions may arise from phase-to-phase or phase-to-groundcontacts. During a short circuit event, the resultant surge in current throughthe cables necessitates immediate intervention to disconnect the system energy.This must occur more swiftly than mere thermal protection can achieve. Therefore,the breaker is designed to perform instantaneous disconnection to protect theconnected load. This instantaneous response is enabled by a mechanicaltripping mechanism that operates via magnetization induced by the magnetic fieldgenerated by the short circuit current.This magnetic area activates themechanical opening mechanism,ensuring rapiddisconnection and effective protection.
