Introduction

The remarkable DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to efficiently conduct current in a standard operational mode, while also offering flawless protection by automatically disconnecting during short circuits, overloads, inadmissible bucking, and operational tripping within electrical circuits. These circuit breakers are ideally suited for electrical systems with an operational voltage not exceeding 400V and are available in a range of rated currents from 12.5 to 1600A.

They are fully compliant with the rigorous standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring top-tier safety and reliability.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (Safeguarding against overload conditions)
The bimetal component, central to the thermal protection, is ingeniously crafted from two metals with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. As the bimetal is subjected to heat, it elegantly bends towards the metal with a lesser expansion rate. This ingenious bending action releases a notch that activates the breaker's mechanism, thereby disengaging the circuit. The bending speed is directly correlated with the current magnitude passing through the breaker, since increased current results in heightened heat generation. Consequently, the bimetal seamlessly fulfills the overcurrent protection function at load currents surpassing the rated threshold.
Magnetic protection function (Ensuring protection during short circuit conditions) A critical function of the breaker is to offer superior protection to the associated circuit against potential short circuits. These hazardous conditions may arise when phases inadvertently come into contact with one another or with the ground. In such scenarios, an exceedingly high current surges through the cables, necessitating an immediate disconnection of system energy. This rapid response is crucial to prevent thermal damage. The breaker must execute an instantaneous opening to safeguard the load it is connected to. This essential task is executed by a precise mechanical opening mechanism. This mechanism is ingeniously designed to function through magnetization, which is activated by the magnetic field created by the short circuit current, thus ensuring prompt and effective circuit protection.
