Introduction
The DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker is engineered to automatically interrupt the current when it surpasses the preset threshold. 'Molded case' denotes the durable plastic insulator that serves as the device's frame, providing essential insulation for the conductor and grounding components.
Working principle
The operation of the DAM3-1600 molded case circuit breaker involves either manual manipulation or electric closing of the main contact. Once closed, the free release mechanism secures the main contact in the closed position. The overcurrent trip coil and the thermal trip element are wired in series with the main circuit, while the undervoltage trip coil is connected in parallel with the power supply.
