The DAM1 series circuit breakers are engineered to conduct current under normal conditions and provide a reliable safeguard by switching off during short circuits, overloads, and unacceptable voltage drops. Optimized for electric units, these breakers can manage an operative voltage up to 400V, with a rated current range from 12.5 to an impressive 1600A.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (Essential for safeguarding under overload conditions)
The bimetallic element, a marvel of engineering, offers essential thermal protection. Crafted from two metals with distinct coefficients of heat expansion, the bimetal bends towards the metal with lesser expansion when heated. This bending action triggers a notch that aids in the breaker mechanism's release, effectively disabling the breaker. The bimetal's bending rate is directly proportional to the current's magnitude passing through the breaker, as increased current leads to heightened heat. Consequently, the bimetal assumes the crucial role of overcurrent protection by responding to load currents that exceed the rated capacity. Magnetic protection function (For robust protection during short circuit conditions) Another vital role of the breaker is to shield the connected circuit from short circuits. This safeguard is critical when short circuits occur, potentially due to phase-to-phase contact or phase-to-ground contact. In such cases, an excessive current flows through the cables, demanding a rapid system energy disconnection to prevent thermal damage. The breaker must execute an instantaneous opening to preserve the integrity of the load it protects. This crucial function is entrusted to a mechanical opening mechanism that is activated through magnetization-induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
