Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to conduct current seamlessly under normal conditions and to interrupt it promptly during short circuits, overloads, or any inadmissible fluctuations. These advanced circuit breakers also facilitate operational actuation and the tripping of electric circuit parts. Designed for electric units with an operative voltage of up to 400V, they support a wide range of rated currents from 12.5A to an impressive 1600A.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (For safeguarding under overload conditions)
The thermal protection is powered by a bimetal component, which ingeniously combines two metals with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. When subjected to heat, the bimetallic strip bends towards the metal with a lower expansion rate, activating a notch that triggers the breaker mechanism to disconnect the circuit. The bending rate of the bimetal is directly proportional to the current flowing through the breaker, as increased current leads to increased heat. This mechanism ensures effective overcurrent protection by the bimetal at load currents exceeding the rated current.
Magnetic Protection Function:(For safeguarding under short circuit conditions) Another critical function of the breaker is toprotect the connected circuit against shortcircuits, which may occur due tocontact between phases orcontact between a phase and the ground. Given that a short circuit results in amassive current surge through the cables, the system's energymust be rapidly cut off to prevent thermaldamage. The breaker must perform an instantaneous disconnect to safeguard the loadit is connected to. This critical function is achieved by a mechanical openingmechanism that operates throughmagnetization induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.The efficiency of thismechanism ensures reliable protection,maintaining the integrity of your electrical systems in the event of short circuits.
