Introduction
The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered for the seamless conduction of current in regular operations and for effectively halting it during short circuits, overloads, and unauthorized current fluctuations. These circuit breakers are integral for the operational actuation and tripping of electric circuit components. They are ideally suited for electric systems with an operational voltage cap of 400V, supporting a rated current range from 12.5A to 1600A.
They strictly adhere to the stringent standards set forth by EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.
Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:
Thermal protection function: (Crucial for overload protection)
Bimetal, responsible for thermal protection, is composed of two metals with distinct heat expansion coefficients. When heated, the bimetal bends toward the metal with the lesser expansion, triggering a notch that releases the mechanism to disable the breaker. The bending speed of the bimetal is directly proportional to the current passing through the breaker, as higher current increases heat. This mechanism efficiently ensures overcurrent protection by the bimetal at load currents exceeding the rated current.
Magnetic protection function:(Crucial for short circuit protection)Another critical role of the breaker is to safeguard the connected circuit against short circuits.Short circuits may arise from phase contact or phase-ground contact.Since such occurrences cause a very high current to pass through the cables, system energy must be quickly interrupted. The breaker must execute an instantaneous opening to safeguard the load it is connected to.This function is achieved through a mechanical opening mechanismthat operatesbased on the magnetization effect induced by the short circuit current's magnetic field.By instantly responding to magnetic triggers, the mechanism ensures comprehensive protection. This precise and rapid responseis crucial for maintainingthe integrity and safety of your electrical systems.
