Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to maintain current flow under normal conditions and to interrupt it during short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible fluctuations. They ensure operational reliability by activating and deactivating segments of the electric circuit. These circuit breakers are ideally suited for electric units with an operating voltage capped at 400V, catering to rated currents ranging from 12.5A to 1600A.

They adhere to the stringent standards set forth in EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (For safeguarding under overload conditions)
The thermal protection mechanism features a bimetallic strip composed of two metals with varying expansion coefficients when exposed to heat. Upon heating, the bimetal bends toward the metal with a lower expansion rate, releasing a notch that triggers the breaker's opening mechanism. The bending speed of the bimetal is directly proportional to the current's magnitude, as higher currents generate more heat. This thermal protection mechanism effectively disrupts the circuit at load currents exceeding the rated threshold.
Magnetic protection function:(For safeguarding under short circuit conditions) Another crucial function of the breaker is toshield the connected circuit against short circuits. Short circuits may arise fromphase-to-phase contact or phase-to-ground contact. Given that short circuits causean exceptionally high current flow through the cables, it is imperative to interrupt the system energypromptly using the thermal protection mechanism. The breaker must instantly open tosafeguard the connected load. The component responsible for this rapid responseis a mechanical opening mechanism, whichoperates through magnetization induced by the magnetic field generated by theshort circuit current.
