Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are expertly crafted to conduct current under normal conditions while seamlessly switching off in cases of short circuits, overloads, inadmissible bucking, and operational triggers. These breakers are meticulously engineered for integration within electric units, maintaining a maximum operative voltage of 400V, and catering to a broad spectrum of rated currents ranging from 12.5 to 1600A.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Ideal for safeguarding against overload conditions)
Bimetal Composition: The thermal protection mechanism features a bimetallic strip, an ingenious blend of two metals with distinct heat expansion coefficients. Upon heating, the bimetallic strip bends towards the metal with a lower expansion rate, activating a notch that facilitates the breaker mechanism's release, thus disabling the breaker. The bending velocity of the bimetallic strip is directly proportional to the magnitude of the passing current-higher currents induce greater heat, thereby fulfilling the overcurrent protection role for currents exceeding the rated capacity.
Magnetic Protection Function(Ultimate safeguard in short-circuit scenarios) Another critical function of the breaker is toshield the connected circuit from shortcircuit incidents. Short circuits canarise from phase-to-phase contacts orphase-to-ground contacts. During ashort circuit, an extraordinarily high current traverses the cables, necessitatingan immediate power cut-off to avert thermal damage. The breaker must perform aninstantaneous disconnection to safeguard theconnected load. This critical function is executed bya mechanical release mechanism,which is triggered bythe magnetic force generatedduring the short circuit,ensuring rapid and effective protection.
