Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to conduct current seamlessly in normal conditions and to swiftly interrupt it during short circuits, overloads, and other unacceptable scenarios. These circuit breakers also facilitate the operational actuation and tripping of electrical circuit components. They are specifically designed for integration into electrical units with an operative voltage capped at 400V, accommodating rated currents ranging from 12.5A to 1600A.

These circuit breakers meet the stringent standards set by EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring superior performance and reliability.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (For safeguarding against overload conditions)
The thermal protection is facilitated by a bimetal component, which consists of two metals with different thermal expansion coefficients. When heated, the bimetal bends towards the metal with the lesser expansion, triggering a notch that aids in opening the breaker mechanism, thereby disabling the breaker. This bending action is directly proportional to the current passing through the breaker, as increased current generates more heat. Thus, the bimetal ensures overcurrent protection by responding to load currents that exceed the rated threshold.
Magnetic Protection Function:(For safeguarding against short circuit conditions) Another crucial role of the breaker is toprotect the connected circuit from shortcircuits. Short circuits can occur due tointer-phase contact or phase-ground contact.Given the extremely high current that flows through the cables during a short circuit, the system energymust be interrupted almost instantaneously,surpassing the response time of thermal protection.The breaker must execute an immediate opening to safeguard the loadit is connected to. This essential functionis carried out by a mechanical openingmechanism thatis activated bythe magnetization induced by the magnetic field created by the short circuit current.
