Introduction

The DAM1 series of circuit breakers are engineered to perfection for the seamless conduction of current under normal conditions. When faced with short circuits, overloads, or inadmissible bucking, they spring into action to switch off the current. These exemplary devices are ideal for electric units with an operative voltage capped at 400V, catering to a wide range of rated currents from 12.5A to 1600A.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: Expertly designed for safeguarding against overload conditions.
The bimetallic element, a marvel of engineering, combines two metals with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. Upon heating, this bimetallic strip elegantly bends towards the metal with the lesser expansion, thus initiating a notch that releases the breaker mechanism, effectively disabling the breaker. The rate at which this bimetal bends is directly proportional to the current flowing through, as increased current leads to heightened heat. This overcurrent protection function is masterfully executed by the bimetal at load currents exceeding the rated current. Magnetic Protection Function: Designed to provide robust protection under short circuit conditions, the breaker also harnesses its potential to safeguard the connected circuit from the devastating impact of short circuits. Short circuits may arise from the contact between phases or phase-ground contact. During such events, an exceedingly high current surges through the cables, necessitating a rapid interruption of system energy. Thus, the breaker must act swiftly, performing an instant opening to ensure protection of the connected load. The integral part that executes this prompt response is a mechanical opening mechanism, specifically engineered to function with precision through the magnetization induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
