Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are masterfully crafted to ensure seamless current conduction under standard conditions, while offering robust protection against short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible bucking. Engineered for operational actuation and precise tripping of electric circuit segments, these circuit breakers are ideal for electrical units with operative voltages capped at 400V, covering a wide range of rated currents from 12.5A to an impressive 1600A.

These circuit breakers adhere strictly to the stringent standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Ensuring safety under overload conditions)
The thermal protection mechanism involves a bimetal component, which fuses two metals with distinct heat extension coefficients. On heating, the bimetal bends towards the metal with a lower extension rate, triggering a notch that releases the breaker mechanism, thereby disabling the breaker. The bending velocity of the bimetal directly correlates with the current magnitude passing through the breaker, as higher currents generate more heat. This sophisticated design ensures overcurrent protection at load currents exceeding the rated levels via the bimetal.
Magnetic Protection Function:(Ensuring safety under short circuit conditions) Another critical function of the breaker is tosafeguard the connected circuit from shortcircuits, which can arise from phase-to-phase contact orphase-to-ground contact. The occurrenceof short circuits generates extremelyhigh currents through the cables, necessitating animmediate system energy cut-off to avoid thermal damage. The breaker mustperform an instantaneous disconnection to shield theconnected load. This vital function is executed by a mechanical openingmechanism, whichis activated bythe magnetization effect caused by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.operates withmagnetization caused by the magnetic area formed by the short circuit current
