Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Ensuring safety under overload conditions)
The thermal protection mechanism involves a bimetal component, which fuses two metals with distinct heat extension coefficients. On heating, the bimetal bends towards the metal with a lower extension rate, triggering a notch that releases the breaker mechanism, thereby disabling the breaker. The bending velocity of the bimetal directly correlates with the current magnitude passing through the breaker, as higher currents generate more heat. This sophisticated design ensures overcurrent protection at load currents exceeding the rated levels via the bimetal.
Magnetic Protection Function:(Ensuring safety under short circuit conditions) Another critical function of the breaker is tosafeguard the connected circuit from shortcircuits, which can arise from phase-to-phase contact orphase-to-ground contact.
