Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are ingeniously crafted to not only conduct current seamlessly under normal conditions but also to swiftly cease operations in the face of short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible buckling. These versatile breakers are engineered for effortless operational actuation and tripping of electric circuit components. Ideal for use in electric units, they boast an operative voltage ceiling of 400V, accommodating rated currents ranging from 12.5A to a robust 1600A.

These innovative circuit breakers fully adhere to the stringent standards set forth by EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Ensuring safety under overload conditions)
The bimetal used for thermal protection masterfully combines two distinct metals with varying heat extension coefficients. Upon heating, the bimetal gracefully curves towards the metal with a lower extension rate. This elegant bending action releases a notch that triggers the breaker's mechanism, deactivating the breaker. The rate of bending is directly proportional to the current's magnitude flowing through. As the current surges, so does the heat, thereby activating the overcurrent protection function of the breaker by engaging the bimetal at load currents exceeding the rated levels. (Safeguarding against short circuit conditions) Another pivotal function of the breaker is to offer robust protection to the connected circuit against dangerous short circuits. Such occurrences can result from the inadvertent contact between phases or a phase grounding scenario. A swift and massive surge of current courses through the cables during a short circuit, necessitating the immediate disconnection of system energy. The breaker must execute a rapid disengagement to secure the load it safeguards. The integral component responsible for this function is a mechanical opening mechanism that springs into action through the magnetization instigated by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
