Introduction

The outstanding DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered for seamless current conduction in standard operations. They provide exceptional safety by swiftly interrupting power during short circuits, overload conditions, and operational faults. Ideal for use in electrical installations, these breakers are optimized for systems with operational voltages up to 400V and offer robust protection across a rated current spectrum from 12.5A to a substantial 1600A.

These circuit breakers meet the stringent standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring compliance and reliability.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (Ensures safety under overload conditions)
At the heart of thermal protection lies a sophisticated bimetal, crafted from two metals with distinct thermal expansion properties. As the bimetal heats, it elegantly bends towards the metal with a lower expansion rate. This precise movement releases a notch, triggering the breaker to disconnect, thereby safeguarding the system. The bimetal's bending speed is directly proportional to the current magnitude, as increased current intensifies heat production. Thus, the bimetal ensures robust overcurrent protection by activating at load currents surpassing the rated threshold.
Magnetic protection function: (Ensures safety during short circuit conditions) Another critical role of the breaker is to safeguard the connected electrical circuit against short circuits. These can be triggered by an accidental contact between phases or a phase-ground contact. In such events, a massive current surge courses through the cables, necessitating a rapid disconnection to avert thermal damage. The breaker executes an instantaneous disengagement to preserve the integrity of the connected load. This vital function is performed by an advanced mechanical release mechanism, which activates via the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current's magnetization, ensuring prompt and reliable circuit protection.
