Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Designed to safeguard under overload conditions)
At the heart of thermal protection lies the sophisticated bimetal, composed of two metals with varying heat expansion coefficients. When heated, this bimetal bends towards the metal with a lesser expansion rate, strategically releasing a notch that springs the breaker mechanism into action, expertly disabling the breaker. The bending velocity of the bimetal is directly proportional to the magnitude of the current, as an increase in current equates to an elevation in heat. Thus, the overcurrent protection function is masterfully executed by the bimetal at load currents surpassing the rated current, seamlessly integrating with the Magnetic protection function. (For unrivaled protection under short circuit conditions) Another paramount function of the breaker is to safeguard the connected circuit against short circuits, which may arise from the unintentional contact between phases or phase-ground contact. Given the potential for an enormous current surge through the cables during a short circuit, the system's energy must be interrupted almost instantaneously due to the thermal protection. The breaker is engineered to instantly open, ensuring the utmost protection for the connected load. The element executing this critical function is an adept mechanical opening mechanism that activates with magnetization induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
