Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to maintain optimal current flow under standard conditions, while adeptly interrupting electrical flow during short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible bucking. They excel in operational actuation and circuit part tripping, making them indispensable for electrical units where the operative voltage is capped at 400V, offering a robust current range from 12.5A to 1600A.

These circuit breakers are in full compliance with the stringent standards set by EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring reliability and safety.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Safeguarding against overload conditions)
The bimetal component, crucial for thermal protection, comprises two metals with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. Upon heating, the bimetal bends toward the metal with the lower expansion coefficient. This action releases a notch, triggering the breaker's mechanism to open and effectively disable it. The bending rate of the bimetal is precisely linked to the amount of current coursing through the breaker, as increased current results in heightened heat. Thus, the bimetal accomplishes the breaker's overcurrent protection by responding to loads exceeding the rated current. Magnetic Protection Function: (Ensuring protection in the event of short circuits) Another critical role of the breaker is to safeguard the connected circuitry against short circuits, which may arise from phase-to-phase contact or phase-to-ground contact. In such instances, the current surges significantly through the cables. To avert damage, the system must interrupt the flow promptly, leveraging thermal protection. The breaker must initiate an instantaneous opening to shield the load to which it is connected. This critical role is performed by a mechanical opening mechanism, which is actuated by the magnetic force generated by the magnetic field induced by the short circuit current.
