Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to conduct electrical current seamlessly under normal conditions and to provide a reliable shutdown during emergencies such as short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible bucking. Designed for operational actuation and the tripping of electric circuit parts, these breakers are ideal for electric units with an operative voltage of up to 400V and cater to rated currents ranging from 12.5A to 1600A.

These circuit breakers fully comply with the rigorous standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring unmatched performance and safety.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Designed to safeguard against overload conditions)
The bimetal element, crucial for thermal protection, is constructed from two metals with different thermal expansion coefficients. When heated, it bends towards the metal with the lesser expansion rate, triggering a notch that releases the breaker mechanism and disables the circuit. The bending speed is directly proportional to the current size, meaning higher currents generate more heat, enabling the bimetal to provide effective overload protection at currents exceeding the rated value.
Magnetic Protection Function(For safeguarding against short circuit conditions) Another vital function of the breaker is toshield the connected circuit from shortcircuits. Short circuit incidents can arisefrom the contact between phase wires or between a phase wire and the ground.Given that an extremely high current flows through the cables during a short circuit, the system's power supplymust be interrupted swiftly to prevent thermal damage. The breakermust execute an instant opening to safeguardthe connected load. This function is performed by amechanical opening mechanism, whichactivates through magnetization, induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.This ensures rapid and reliable protection.
