Introduction

The illustrious DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously crafted for seamless current conduction under normal conditions and swift disconnection during short circuits, overloads, or unwarranted bucking. Additionally, they are primed for operational engagement and disconnection of electric circuit segments. These circuit breakers are engineered for deployment in electrical assemblies with an operational voltage cap of 400V, accommodating rated currents spanning from 12.5 to 1600A.

Proudly adhering to the rigorous standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, these breakers ensure reliability and compliance.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Designed for safeguarding against overload conditions)
The ingenious bimetal, integral for thermal protection, is an amalgamation of two metals with divergent expansion coefficients under heat. Once heated, the bimetal arches towards the metal exhibiting lesser expansion, thereby releasing a latch that triggers the breaker mechanism to deactivate the circuit. The bending speed of the bimetal is proportionately related to the current magnitude traversing through the breaker, as a surge in current results in increased heat generation. Hence, the bimetal adeptly fulfills the overcurrent protection function for load currents surpassing the rated threshold.
Magnetic Protection Function (For safeguarding under short circuit conditions) Another pivotal role of the breaker is to shield the connected circuit against short circuits. Such malfunctions may ensue from inter-phasal contacts or phase-to-ground contacts. In such scenarios, a substantial current surge courses through the wires during a short circuit, necessitating a swift interruption of system energy due to the exigencies of thermal protection. The breaker must execute an instantaneous disengagement to safeguard the load it is attached to. This critical role is performed by a mechanical disengagement mechanism that is activated by the magnetic force induced by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current.
