Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers stand as paragons of engineering excellence, meticulously designed to expertly conduct current in normal conditions and to swiftly disconnect in instances of short circuits, overloads, and unacceptable voltage dips. These tools of precision and safety are crafted for seamless integration into electrical units with operational voltages up to 400V, catering to a broad spectrum of rated currents from 12.5 to an impressive 1600A.

They adhere rigorously to the stringent standards of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring reliability and compliance.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (Designed for safeguarding under overload conditions)
The thermal safeguard is achieved through a sophisticated bimetallic strip, an ingenious fusion of two distinct metals each with unique expansion coefficients when heated. Upon heating, this bimetallic marvel bends towards the metal with a lower expansion rate, triggering a notch that liberates the breaker mechanism to interrupt the circuit. The rate at which the bimetal bends correlates directly with the magnitude of the current traversing the breaker, as increased current translates to heightened heat. Thus, this clever design ensures that the breaker effectively performs its overload protection function whenever load currents exceed the designated threshold.
Magnetic protection function (For safeguarding against short circuit conditions) A pivotal role of this breaker is to shield the associated circuit from short circuits. Such potentially devastating events can occur due to unintended contact between phases or between a phase and ground. Given that an immense current surge can race through the cables during a short circuit, the system's integrity must be preserved by promptly interrupting the energy flow, thanks to the thermal protection mechanism. The breaker must execute an instantaneous disconnection to safeguard the load it is linked to. This critical task is achieved by a robust mechanical opening mechanism that is set into motion through the magnetization induced by the magnetic field created by the short circuit current.
