Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are expertly engineered to seamlessly conduct electric current under normal conditions, while providing a robust defense against short circuits, overloads, and operational errors. Designed for systems with an operative voltage capped at 400V, they efficiently manage rated currents ranging from 12.5A to a substantial 1600A, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

They adhere to the stringent standards outlined in EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal protection function: (Ensuring superior protection during overload conditions)
The bimetallic element, central to thermal protection, features a unique composition of two metals with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. Upon heating, the bimetal bends towards the metal with a lower expansion rate, thereby releasing a latch that activates the breaker mechanism, effectively disconnecting the circuit. The bending rate is directly proportional to current intensity, as increased current generates more heat. Thus, overload protection is adeptly managed by the bimetal when currents surpass the rated threshold.
Magnetic protection function (Ensuring unparalleled protection during short circuit conditions) Another critical function of the breaker is to safeguard the associated circuit against shorts that may occur due to phase-to-phase contact or phase-to-ground contact. In such events, excessive current flows through the cables, necessitating rapid disruption of the system's power to circumvent thermal damage. The breaker must immediately disengage to preserve the integrity of the load connected to it. This crucial function is executed by a mechanical opening mechanism that is activated by the magnetic force generated within the magnetic field created by the short circuit current.
