Introduction

The robust DAM1 series circuit breakers are expertly engineered for efficient current conduction during normal operations, while providing superior protection against short circuits, overloads, and inadmissible bucking. Additionally, they offer operational actuation and secure tripping of electric circuit components. Specially crafted for electric units with an operational voltage capped at 400V, these circuit breakers cater to a wide range of applications with rated currents spanning from 12.5A to a substantial 1600A.

These circuit breakers meet and exceed the rigorous standards set forth by EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2, ensuring top-notch safety and reliability.


Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers: A perfect blend of thermal and magnetic protection solutions

Thermal protection function: Specifically tailored for safeguarding against overload conditions
The sophisticated bimetal component, integral to thermal protection, is composed of two distinct metals with varying heat expansion coefficients. Upon heating, the bimetal bends toward the metal with the lesser extension, triggering a notch that facilitates the opening of the breaker mechanism, thus disabling the breaker. The bending rate of the bimetal is directly proportional to the magnitude of the current flowing through the breaker, as increased current equates to heightened heat. Therefore, the bimetal effectively fulfills the overcurrent protection function by responding to load currents that exceed the rated current, ensuring dynamic protection.
Magnetic protection function: Designed for swift response to short circuit conditions In the event of a short circuit, the breaker serves to protect the connected circuit by counteracting adverse effects caused by short circuits. These incidents can occur due to phase-to-phase contact or phase-to-ground contact. Such faults induce an immense current surge through the cables, necessitating an immediate disconnection to avoid thermal damage. The breaker must execute rapid opening to shield the connected load, ensuring comprehensive protection. The core component responsible for this swift functionality is the mechanical opening mechanism, which is ingeniously activated through magnetization, initiated by the magnetic field generated by the short circuit current. This ensures the circuit's safety and reliability during unexpected faults.
