The DAM1 series circuit breakers are designed for conducting current in normal mode and switching it off in case of short circuits, overload, inadmissible bucking, operational actuation, and tripping of electric circuit parts. They are suitable for use in electric units with an operative voltage limit of 400V and rated current ranging from 12.5 to 1600A.
These circuit breakers comply with the requirements of EN 60947-1 and EN 60947-2.
Thermal Protection Function: The bimetal in the breaker provides thermal protection by bending towards the metal with less extension when heated. This action releases a notch to disable the breaker, with the bending speed proportional to the current passing through it, offering overcurrent protection.
Magnetic Protection Function: The breaker also protects against short circuits by instantly opening to break the system energy in case of a short circuit. This function is fulfilled by a mechanical opening mechanism operating with magnetization from the short circuit current's magnetic area.
