Introduction

The DAM1 series circuit breakers are meticulously engineered to maintain uninterrupted current flow under normal conditions and to promptly disconnect in the event of short circuits, overloads, or other electrical anomalies. Designed for electric systems up to 400V, these breakers support a rated current range from 12.5A to 1600A, ensuring robust performance and reliable protection.

Thermal-Magnetic Circuit Breakers:

Thermal Protection Function: (Protection under overload conditions)
The thermal protection mechanism uses a bimetal composed of two metals with distinct thermal expansion coefficients. Upon heating, the bimetal bends towards the metal with lesser expansion, triggering a notch that disengages the breaker mechanism, thereby interrupting the circuit. The bending speed is directly proportional to the current passing through the breaker, as increased current leads to increased heat, ensuring effective overload protection.
Magnetic Protection Function:(Protection under short circuit conditions) Another critical function of the breaker is tosafeguard the connected circuit from the potentially devastating effects of shortcircuits. Short circuits can occur due to the contact between phases orbetween a phase and the ground. Such events result in amassive surge of current through the cables, necessitating the promptdisconnection of the system's energy supply to prevent thermal damage. The breaker mustact instantaneously to protect the load it is connected to. This rapid response is enabledby a mechanical opening mechanism,which is triggered by the magnetic field generatedby the short circuit current. This quickaction ensures effective loadprotection,minimizingthe risk of damage caused by electrical faults.
